When Hamza was diagnosed with CP this was probably my biggest fear
that probably I'll not be able to leave my home probably I'll not be ever
able to do some job
 
(Uzma picks Hamza out of the pram in sits down on the sofa with Hamza on her knees)
 
Ok ok, stand up, stand up
 
I am Uzma. I am a PhD candidate at UNSW.
 
One of the reasons I chose a PhD was that I thought that I will not be able to go and work in industry, because I have to stay at home with Hamza
 
We are not experts so it's the NDIS that has actually helped us a lot
 
(Support worker moving standing chair into position)
 
The good thing is that most of the decisions are in our hands
 
(Hamza lying on the floor and the support worker putting on his shoes)
 
We can use the funding for physio support or even for his day to day

We post the job and then we interview the people and hire them

Now I know the support system is there
 
I can envision myself going to industry
 
Maybe Google, Microsoft... why not?
